Ohio University will hold its next Campus Conversation on Wednesday, Feb.

24, with this installment of the series focusing on faith.

“Campus Conversation: Speed-Faithing” will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the entire OHIO and surrounding communities.

Initiated in the fall of 2013, OHIO’s Campus Conversations are designed to provide a safe environment for individuals to ask questions, raise concerns, share personal experiences and educate themselves and others on topics affecting college campuses and the global community.Campus Conversations are organized by members of the Ohio University community, often in collaboration with individuals in the local community. 24 Campus Conversation is designed to allow participants to learn what it is like on the Athens Campus for students of various religious faiths and traditions.Modeled after “speed-dating,” the event will serve as an innovative way for the community to meet individuals from various faith traditions, hear about how their faiths impact their lives, ask questions and share their personal experiences.“Participants will hear Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Mormon students share their experiences, joys and challenges around religious difference and being a person of faith in the Bobcat family,” explained the Rev.Evan Young, campus minister of United Campus Ministry who has helped to plan and execute several of OHIO’s Campus Conversations.“I hope that this event helps to build the understanding and relationships that help make our diverse Ohio University community resilient and vibrant.” For more information about the upcoming Campus Conversation, contact Jamie Patton, assistant dean of students, at [email protected]
